Over the course of the last one hundred years Geary Community Hospital has touched nearly every family in our community in some way, through surgeries, outpatient services, maternity care, inpatient hospitalization, education classes and screenings, emergency department visits, home health care and much more. We developed from the idea of giving the best care to our friends, family, and neighbors in Geary County, Kansas and the surrounding communities and continue that mission to this day.
Our Mission
Providing quality healthcare and promoting the well-being of those we serve.
Our Vision
To be the trusted choice for healthcare and wellness in our communities.
Our Motto
Progressive Healthcare, Hometown Compassion
Demonstrating Community Need
As part of the Affordable Care Act, tax-exempt hospitals are required to complete a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) once every three years. While Geary Community Hospital (GCH) is not a 501(c)(3) hospital, this study is designed to comply with the same standards and helps assure that GCH identifies and responds to the primary health needs of its residents and enables GCH to focus their efforts and resources on the most significant health needs of the community.
In 2017 and 2020, a CHNA was conducted for GCH and identified the greatest health needs in our community. The 2020 report includes a comprehensive assessment of Geary County, Kansas.
The analyses include a careful review of the most current health data available, demographics and input from numerous community representatives. The process culminates in the development of an Implementation Plan to address the significant needs identified through the CHNA. The CHNA and Implementation Plan report was presented to and approved by the Hospital Board on September 29, 2020. Geary Community Hospital will utilize its 2020 plan as a guide over the next three years to offer programs that support the health of the community and the mission of the organization.

We had a wonderful experience. Nicole, Katy, Kari, and Sally were absolutely wonderful! We could not have been more pleased.
I’ve always had good care whenever I was a patient there.
I have no complaints, everyone was very nice and prompt. Dr. Otoo is a credit to her profession. She relaxes me and explains very well. The whole staff that day was outstanding.
Great people! I felt very welcome and all seemed to focus on me to make sure I was comfortable. I always felt I was in great care. Thank you!

Exceptional hospital and staff. I have and will recommend you all. Thank you! My wife, family, and friends who have stayed here think the same.
Have always had excellent care at GCH. First surgery with Dr. Otoo – will recommend her highly – 4th time with Flinthills Surgery staff – excellent.
Kept me very informed and explained things to me and what was to happen. Great surgical room nurses and super anesthesiologist and physician. Was impressed that I was called next day to see how I was. Very thorough! Very happy with experience!
Excellent staff during my stay. Everyone was friendly and had wonderful manners. Nurses made sure that I was very comfortable the entire stay. I am very impressed about everything (timing, staff, cleanliness, etc). I have ZERO complaints!
The Emergency Department staff was wonderful. We were taken directly to a room, and Brett began getting my mom in a bed immediately. Everyone was exceptionally courteous and helpful. Very professional. Brett joked around a little with my dad, which I think helped him to not be so anxious.
My daughter had to go in for an MRI and was taken care of by Dan. Let me just say that he was absolutely amazing in all he did for us. He was so patient and kind. He made my 8 year old daughter feel more than comfortable about getting her scan done. There were some unfortunate complications during our first visit so Dan got us worked in to come back the following day to try again. When we went back into the recovery room to get my daughter's IV inserted, Dan had the cutest little stuffed bear on the bed waiting for her! The nurse that did her IV (I can't remember her name) was just as awesome. She was so nice to my daughter, myself, and my other 3 kiddos that had to tag along. I was a little uneasy about my daughter having to do the testing in the first place and am worried about the results, but Dan the man went above and beyond during both of our visits. This man is GOOD at what he does and is such a wonderful and caring person. In my opinion, whatever he is making is not enough. He most definitely deserves a raise! Thank you, Dan for everything you have done for us and I wish you nothing but the best! Sincerely, A very happy Mom P.S. My daughter named her little stuffed bear Dan 🙂
I have made three three trips to Alpha Care, had lab work, x-rays, and was admitted to the hospital. I am emailing you to telling my interactions at each of these places was absolutely phenomenal. The customer service was great and didn't go unnoticed. Everyone was kind, hospitable, and extremely professional. In specifically, Dr. Jenkins was a perfect doctor to have during my stay. My two nurses, Micala and Heather were OUTSTANDING. I also want to bring to your attention Donna in housekeeping. Her sweet, caring, and respectful personality was delightful to have when she was cleaning my room. Not only was she proficient at her job but her costumer service was fabulous as well.
